ALERT 34/26 MSCIO has received information regarding a possible hijacking of a merchant vessel in the vicinity of Hafun, Somalia. Operation Atalanta is currently investigating the incident. Masters are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, implement BMP-MS measures, and report any suspicious activity immediatly to MSCIO and UKMTO. UPDATE01: Atalanta assets are approaching the hijacked vessel to assess the situation and are continuing to work closely with local authorities to secure its release.
