ALERT 159/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 22:12 UTC on 29 October 2026, 25NM northeast of Khasab, Oman, in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker was reportedly approached by a small boat, which attached two explosive devices to its hull. The subsequent explosions caused an engine-room fire, temporarily disabling the vessel. The fire has been extinguished, the crew are reported safe, and the vessel has resumed its voyage. No environmental impact has been reported. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO.
