ALERT 157/26 MSCIO has received information regarding a suspicious activity incident at approximately 03:00 UTC on 29 October 2026, 9NM north of Khasab, Oman, in the Strait of Hormuz. The Master of a merchant vessel reportedly observed another vessel on fire. The crew status, extent of damage and potential environmental impact remain unknown at this stage. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
