ALERT 154/26 MSCIO has received a time-late report regarding an incident at approximately 08:39 UTC on 23 October 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while conducting an outbound transit, leaving the vessel disabled. All crew are reported safe. The extent of the damage and environmental impact remain unknown. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
