ALERT 136/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 19:20 UTC on 10 October 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck on the port side by an unknown projectile while conducting an outbound transit, resulting in a fire onboard. All crew are reported safe. The extent of the damage and environmental impact remain unknown. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
