ALERT 123/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 11:22 UTC on 2 October 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while conducting an outbound transit, resulting in a small fire and blackout onboard. The fire has since been extinguished, and the vessel is underway. No casualties or environmental impact have been reported. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
