ALERT 122/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 17:50 UTC on 1 October 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in a fire onboard. The crew are reported safe. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
