ALERT 103/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 20:00 UTC on 31 August 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A vessel reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while conducting a transit of the Strait of Hormuz. The impact caused damage to the port side of the vessel and there are no reported casualties, all crew are safe. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
