ALERT 102/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 20:53 UTC on 29 August 2026, 12NM north of Khasab, Oman, in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while conducting an inbound transit. No casualties or environmental impact have been reported. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
