ALERT 101/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 17:30 UTC on 25 August 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile, causing a fire onboard. The fire has since been extinguished. All crew are reported safe and accounted for, and no environmental impact has been reported. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
