ALERT 93/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 20:00 UTC on 14 August 2026 in the Strait of Hormuz. A bulk carrier reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile, which impacted the hull. The crew are reported safe. A damage assessment has not yet been completed, and the environmental impact remains unknown. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
