MSCIO received a report of an incident 51NM southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The vessel was engaged by multiple small vessels who opened fire with small arms and self-propelled grenades. After performing a damages assesment, the crew abandoned the ship. Currently, it has been confirmed that the crew has been rescued by a passing merchant vessel. Last known position of the vessel is 1457N 04139E. This one remains abandoned and it is not iluminated. Vessels are advised to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity to MSCIO and UKMTO.
