ALERT 84/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 22:06 UTC on 31 July 2026, 21NM north east of Khasab, Oman. A tanker reports seeing a large splash and explosion of unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. All crew have been confirmed safe and well, no damage on the ship have been reported. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
