ALERT 80/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 20:10 UTC on 20 July 2026, 8NM northeast of Limah, Oman. A tanker reportedly was struck by an unknown projectile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. According to the latest information, the crew abandoned the vessel and embarked in a lifeboat. No environmental impact has been reported. The relevant authorities are investigating the incident. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
