ALERT 74/26 MSCIO has received information regarding an incident at approximately 22:40 UTC on 11 July 2026, approximately 9NM east of Oman. A container vessel reportedly sustained damage to the stern after being struck during an attack, resulting in a fire onboard. According to the latest information, the crew abandoned the vessel and are currently embarked in a lifeboat. Vessels operating in the area are advised to maintain heightened vigilance, adhere to BMP-MS, and report immediately any suspicious activity or relevant information to MSCIO and UKMTO.
